en la carpeta ‘mi música’ del ordenador tengo todos los álbumes de los beatles, que fueron nada menos que trece en apenas ocho años.

además hay bastantes canciones suyas que no se incluyeron en ningún álbum, algunas de ellas muy famosas. se recogieron en una recopilación llamada past masters, pero yo he preferido reubicarlas en los álbumes que estuvieran más próximos en el tiempo a las fechas en que esas canciones se lanzaron.

de ese modo, from me to you y she loves you las añadí al final del primer álbum, please please me; i want to hold your hand la puse al final del segundo álbum, with the beatles; i feel fine la puse en el beatles for sale; we can work it out y day tripper las puse en el rubber soul; paperback writer la puse en el revolver. hasta ahí no me lo tuve que pensar mucho...

lady madonna, hey jude y la primera versión de revolution las metí en el magical mystery tour, con lo cual me quedaba un poco largo. pero es que en el sgt. pepper’s lonely hearts club band no quería añadir ninguna porque es un disco conceptual, y habrían quedado fuera de lugar. y por otro lado estaba el doble ábum blanco -white album-, en el que tampoco quería añadir nada porque ya es bastante largo de por sí.

en la banda sonora de yellow submarine, quité todos los temas orquestales de la segunda parte y puse en su lugar get back -versión original-, don’t let me down, the ballad of john and yoko y old brown shoe.

hay que explicar que yellow submarine era una canción incluida originalmente en el álbum revolver, pero a alguien se le ocurrió crear una película basada en el tema de esa canción. para la banda sonora se recuperaron yellow submarine y all you need is love, y se grabaron cuatro nuevos temas.

en definitiva, lo que hice fue añadir a los álbumes de estudio las canciones que se incluyeron en los famosos recopilatorios rojo (1962-1966) y azul (1967-1970) y que no estaban en ningún álbum, eran ‘no clasificadas’ por decirlo así. y es que los recopilatorios rojo y azul me los regalaron hace mucho, fueron lo primero que tuve de los beatles, y no quería que faltara ninguna canción que estuviera incluida en ellos.

por otro lado, pasé a un documento de word los títulos de todas las canciones, con un código de colores según quién fuera el vocalista principal en cada una:

también podía ocurrir que hubiera más de un vocalista principal o, más raramente, que no hubiera ninguno:

esta información la saqué de wikipedia, que no siempre es una fuente fiable. y en algunos casos no estoy muy de acuerdo. por ejemplo, hay alguna en morado que debería estar en azul, porque era john quien llevaba el peso de la canción y paul como mucho hacía algún coro... se nota que soy más de john que de paul? ;)
